Not only do innovations from Hailo score highly in everyday life, they also win top marks from jurors in international design competitions. And they've just done it twice: the TP1 stairs platform and the Harmony range of waste bins have been recognised with the renowned Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018. Both prize-winners had already enjoyed success in the iF Design Award 2018.
The "reddot" has made a name for itself as a coveted quality label for good design and is awarded annually to products which stand out from top-class competition. The expert jury had to assess submissions from 59 nations this time. They cast a critical eye over degree of innovation, aesthetic quality, functionality, ergonomics and usefulness, among other things.
One of the prize-winners, the TP1 stairs platform, is a world first: the TP1 is a useful extra for any ladders and a safe and innovative solution when staircases need renovating or decorating. The TP1 can be used as a working platform or as a stable base for folding steps and stepladders with up to four steps. Telescopic rails allow for flexible adjustment, even on spiral staircases.
A functional object can become a design piece - and the Harmony waste bin shows us how. Greater visual appeal goes hand in hand with a high level of practicality here, thanks to the cushioned lid-closing mechanism (Soft Close) and ergonomically designed foot rail.
